Touched by an Angel

Each of us has their own angels. All you need to do is find out who is assigned to you. Talk to your angel, you will be surprised He may have a message for you.

A Thought from Pope Pius XII

Everyone, no matter how humble he may be,
has angels to watch over him.

They are heavenly, pure, and splendid,
and yet they have been given to us
to keep us company along the way:

They have been given the task of keeping careful watch over you.

Think about this .....

Each time you think about that for which you are waiting,
imagine that the angels are saying to you (or say to yourself),

"Patience." ...
Practice using the word patience
as a signal to relax and trust the angels.

Thought for the Day

Angels give perspective. No matter how difficult, hopeless, or joyless your life seems, the angels will teach you how to return to strength and happiness.

How Angels Understand

Angels are able to know and understand…
better than the human intellect can, precisely
because suck knowledge and understanding
comes to them by way of ideas infused in them by God.

Dear Angel, Please Help Me...

Have something on your mind? Write a special request to your guardian angel.
Excerpted and reprinted from 'Messengers of Love, Light, & Grace'
by Terry Lynn Taylor, with permission of
New World Library.

Keep on asking and it will be given to you;keep on seeking and you will find....
--Matthew 7:7

Of all the ideas about communicating with angels I have explored, I've found that angel mail is the most popular. It's very effective on many levels. Angels are special request agents. Special requests cover a wide range of issues, from assistance with immediate tasks, such as finding your lost keys, to help with achieving long-term goals. When we involve angels in our special requests, we are acknowledging the desires of our higher selves. It is fine to ask angels for help with your goals and aspirations. You may think that angels should already know what you want and that you shouldn’t ask, but asking is the positive step that sets the action in motion and inscribes it in the divine registry. There is no harm in asking the angels for something, because they only do things for the highest good of all concerned. Prosperity author Catherine Ponder has said, "Your ships come in only after you have sent them out." Asking the angels for a special request is like sending out your ships and asking God to bless them. You are protected from greed by the angels, because they see into excesses and are attuned to your higher consciousness.

With angel mail, you write your special request on a piece of paper and mail it to the angels. The written word is said to have a special power of its own. Declaring your wishes on paper and addressing your letter to the angels is a good way of clarifying your goals and truest desires. To make a special request to the angels, simply take a piece of paper and address it to your own highest angel and the highest angels of the others your request involves. In your request, be specific and define what it is you want as clearly as you can. Always add the phrase "for the highest good of all concerned" to your note. Then express your gratitude. Thank the angels as if the request has already been granted. Also, thank God, and anyone else who has something to do with the request.

A story about one of the Catholic popes describes how he prayed to his guardian angel every day for guidance. When he was scheduled to confer with someone he thought might be troublesome, he would ask his guardian angel to speak with the other person’s guardian angel regarding the upcoming meeting. The two guardian angels would work out the disagreements beforehand, and the meeting would proceed without needless arguments.

Apply this idea to angel mail. A problem cannot be solved at the level it was created. If there is someone in your life--your boss, your spouse, your child, your coworker, or your friend--with whom you have trouble communicating without disagreements and arguments over trivial issues, try writing to that person’s guardian angel and ask that the situation be understood on the highest level. Then pay attention to what happens the next time you see that person. Look for any subtle or obvious change of heart on the part of that person concerning the areas of disagreement.

You can use this technique whenever you feel resistance from other people. Write to their angels, and state clearly what you want from them, what it is you want them to understand, how you want them to react, and what you want them to do. By writing to a person's guardian angel, you can get past any emotional blocks either or both of you may have in the situation. Use this technique for helping those you care about to do something positive for themselves. If people you know need healing, release, love, or knowledge, write to their highest angels and ask that they be blessed with what they most need. This technique is especially useful if people you know have created situations for themselves that you can’t talk about face-to-face. Maybe the situation involves something that you can see clearly from the outside but that they are in denial about.

When writing to angels with regard to other people, keep in mind that other people have free will. We experience pain when those we love disappoint us by doing something we don’t appreciate. If you have expectations about people, eventually you are going to be disappointed, one way or another. On the other hand, if you don’t expect anything and give and release freely, loving unconditionally, you will not allow their negative actions to affect you. If you are trying to influence someone romantically by writing to that person¹s angel, the best thing to do is to bless and release him or her with love.

If you are meant to be with this person, he or she will come to you freely, with no conditions. The angels want you to be happy, but they also know that no other person can make you happy; it’s up to you to claim your own happiness first.

When you are ready to "mail" a written request, the first thing to do is to fold and seal it; then find a special place for it. Some people keep their requests in books like the Bible; others use a jewelry box, their wallet, their journal, or their altar. After you mail your request in this way, be prepared for action. You have asked the angels, so listen intuitively for messages regarding your request, or just mail your request and forget about it until it pops into your mind again.

Steps for Mailing Requests to the Angels

1. Define your request.

2. Write your request on a piece of paper. Specify the angel you are addressing, for example:"To the guardian angel of ____________" or "To the prosperity brokers" or "To the highest angel of ____________." Somewhere in your request, include the phrase "for the highest good of all concerned." Close your request with an expression of gratitude. "Thank you, God" is always good.

3. If there are any people who might interfere with the fulfillment of your requests, write to their guardian angels and ask that anything that might block your progress with those people be removed.

4. Fold and seal your letter, find a special place for it, and consider it mailed.

5. Wait for a response, which may come in the form of intuition, opportunities for action, or feelings, such as peace of mind and knowing that all is well.

A Child's Answered Prayer

Even in small things, the faith of a child can make a big difference.

We will probably never know how many disasters are averted because of the prayers of children. But because their faith is so pure (and Scripture says their angels "always see the face of the Father in heaven"), wonderful things can happen. Nancee Donavan agrees. One morning, her second-grade daughter, Rebecca Lynn, was supposed to bring cookies for the class treat. But Nancee had gotten a late start baking, and the cookies weren’t ready to take on the school bus. "I’ll finish them, and drop them off at school way before lunch," Nancee promised. Rebecca Lynn was not happy about this, but she kissed her mom goodbye, and got on the bus.

In an hour or so, the cookies were ready. Nancee’s husband went out to start the car, as Nancee dressed the three-year-old, Jerry. But she didn’t hear anything. Looking out, she realized that the car’s engine wasn’t turning over. After about fifteen minutes, her husband came back. "The car’s dead," he said. "I’ve tried everything but it won’t start."

"What are we going to do now?" Nancy wondered aloud. "Rebecca is going to be so disappointed."

Little Jerry looked up. "We could pray!" he suggested, his eyes bright. The adults looked at him. "Well..." Nancee began. But Jerry was already on his knees. "Please, God, make the car start!" he prayed.

Nancee’s husband smiled. "I guess I’d better try it again." He went out, turned the ignition key--and the engine sprang to life. Astonished--and before the car could change its mind!--Nancee and Jerry jumped in, and they sped to school. Nancee’s husband kept the engine idling, as Nancee and Jerry brought the cookies to a delighted Rebecca, then ran back to the car. Next stop, the mechanic. He would be back in a few moments, they were told, so they sat down to wait.

Soon the mechanic returned, opened the hood and looked at the car. "Who towed this in?" he asked.

"No one," Nancee’s husband replied. "We drove it here.

"The mechanic shook his head. "You couldn’t have done that. The battery is completely dead. It’s ice cold.

"The adults looked at each other. What a Father they served, One who cared about every detail of their lives! And what a lesson to remember, that God loves to give His children good things. Even the littlest ones. "I have told many people about our miracle," Nancee says. "The prayers of children are amazing."

An Angel to Watch Over Me

Through faith and prayer, a deaf woman discovers divine protection.

Rebecca lost her hearing when she was only fifteen. Not only was she hard of hearing, noise actually caused her pain. "Although I was considered profoundly deaf, I could hear some deep-toned sounds," she explains. "Most deaf people can. But if there were more than two people in a room, it was hard for me to follow the conversation because there was too much distraction." Rebecca found it difficult going to church too, since she couldn’t understand sounds in this environment. A deaf friend realized that straining to understand the church services was probably the reason why Rebecca developed migraines afterwards. Ultimately she stopped going. Instead, she began to ask God’s angels to watch over her, and to be there when she needed some special help. But like all of us, Rebecca sometimes wondered if heavenly help was really there.

Life could have become even more isolated for Rebecca, but eventually (at the urging of another friend), she purchased a little Schnauzer named Hans. "Hans did many things for me," Rebecca says. "When the phone would ring, he’d touch me with his paws, or simply stare at me. He protected me, told me when someone was at the door...When we were together, he gave his total attention to my needs, and I felt so safe." Rebecca could even hear his bark, because its tone was very deep.

Rebecca depended on Hans so much that she often begged God to let her little dog live forever. She knew this was unrealistic, but she prayed anyway. One night she had a dream in which she was walking the dog and for no apparent reason suddenly felt herself enveloped in a cocoon of the purest love she had ever experienced. Just a few weeks later, at the age of thirteen, her faithful companion died. "I wondered then if God had sent me that dream--and the love--as a preparation for Hans’ death," Rebecca says.

Whatever the reason, Rebecca couldn’t help but feel fearful after Hans died. How was she going to be safe without her little companion to warn her? She had surgery for cochlear implants, but it was unsuccessful. Again, she began to pray each night that God would send His angels. "I asked that they protect EVERY entrance to me house, even the windows." After this prayer, she found that she could go to sleep without any fear. However, she never discussed this new prayer--or her faith--with anyone. It was just between God and herself and, of course, the angels who--hopefully--were guarding her. How she wished she could see them and put any final doubts to rest!

One afternoon, an excited young boy knocked on her door. He wanted to tell her about something he and his friend, Ben—who lived across the street--had seen the previous night. This boy was staying overnight with Ben, and "We wanted to play with our remote control cars on the mound of clay near your house," he told Rebecca. "But we had to wait until late when Ben’s parents had gone to sleep." Finally the boys tiptoed down the steps, eased the front door open and ran toward the clay mound.

But as they ran, they both looked up and gasped. A man in a long white robe was standing on top of the highest pine tree, on a hill that overlooked Rebecca’s home. The man was watching the boys, with his arms crossed over his chest. "He must have been ten feet tall!" the boy insisted. "Me and Ben were scared!"

Rebecca was sure he was telling her the truth, and joy flooded her heart. "Do you know who you saw?" she asked. The boy shook his head. "I then told him about my fear of being alone at night since I’d lost Hans, and my prayer that God would send angels to watch over me at night. I had thought it would take an angel at every entrance of my house! But it was obvious that only one angel was needed, and God had sent him to protect me." The boy’s eyes were huge, and he appeared to be overwhelmed by it all as he turned and gave Rebecca a wave. She was sure he would never forget the experience. It was then that she realized she had received another gift. "I normally can’t hear children, nor even ‘speech-read’ them," she says. "But this boy and I had understood each other perfectly."

Today Rebecca teaches the Bible to young Christians on the Internet ("God sends them to me," she says)! Although she continues to pray for a healing (and let’s pray for her too), God is the Center of her life, no matter what. And she knows she is never alone.

Your Secret Angel

When a good person is troubled,
an angel descends from heaven
and embraces her.
The angel carries
the sorrow-filled person on her wings
through the skies,
pausing at places her passenger once loved.
